My nighttime skincare routine is pretty inconsistent if I do say so myself. I have combination skin, so it’s hard for me to find the right products without overwhelming my face.
I know I wrote a post about my nighttime skin routine last year and I still use some of those products as you will read below. But I have brought in some new players into the mix. I also started to introduce some overnight masks into my nighttime skincare routine.
I was lucky enough to be given and review the Ivy Voxbox products from Influenster! There were a bunch of different things like a soap bar, chapstick, a razor and some candy. I got to try them out and here are my honest reviews.
I found it! The Holy Grail of night masks and dry skin cures. This winter has been particularly brutal to my face and I just couldn’t get rid of the random dry patches! I’ve tried everything from different exfoliators, moisturizers, oils and what have yous. Nothing worked until I got the Origins Drink Up Intensive Night Mask. It’s a serious game changer.
Cleansing oils were a new concept for me this year, but once I tried one, I was hooked. I didn’t realize that I should be putting oil on my already oily face! These oils could break down makeup so easily and help cleanse your skin. I’ve tried several, but would always find myself coming back to these two cleansing oils.
It’s Friday night and I’m hanging out in bed, binge-watching Sex and the City. Partying it up hard over here, right? But before I started my marathon, I took care of my skin so I could pass out when I wanted to without worrying what my face would look like in the morning. These are the products I typically use in my nighttime skin routine!
Up until about a month ago, I bought drugstore-brand face wash and would usually have to wash my face twice because my makeup wouldn’t come off the first round. But not too long ago, I found my first little eye wrinkle from washing, scrubbing, and wiping my makeup off my face harshly. I obviously freaked out and looked into a gentler makeup remover.
I tried various removers, including Garnier Micellar Water, but it just wasn’t getting rid of all my makeup. I scoured the mothership (ahem, Sephora) and stumbled upon the Boscia Makeup-Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil.
I recently came back from a week long trip to Toronto + Montreal with a friend. While I was packing for Canada, I was thinking to myself about what makeup I needed to bring with me (and how will it fit into my carry on bags.) After serious contemplation, I narrowed down my top choices for my travel makeup essentials. This is going to be a long post, so buckle down with me 🙂
This is probably a very late post, but better late than never! So, it was finally the 20% Sephora VIB sale time that everyone loves, and I definitely spent a little more than I was planning to. I used this sale to mainly refill many products that I used up already and explored a little more outside of my normal product line. Some products already got sent back to Sephora while others found a permanent spot on my vanity. Here is my Sephora VIB sale haul and a few product reviews on the ones I’ve tried!
I finally started getting into the skin peel game, and after reading reviews of the top picks on Sephora, I decided to go with a sample of Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Ultra Gentle Daily Peel (that’s a mouthful). It’s not like a traditional peel where you apply it like a mask, but it’s actually a two part wet-nap process.
If you haven’t read any of my previous posts yet, here is my skin type:
I have combination sensitive skin, where it’s sometimes really oily around my T-Zone, but I also have dry patches by my ears/edge of the face. I can’t really use exfoliators or chemical based products around my cheek areas because my skin gets really sensitive in those areas. I have big pores on and around my nose area, and my skin is susceptible to breakouts.
I splurged a little online at Sephora the other day and even spent 500 points on the Origins Radiance-Boosting Bests set and 100 points on the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer. I didn’t get to try anything out yet, except for the Becca highlighter that I finally got (I know, super late!). I’ll have reviews up for them in a later post, but I just wanted to show you guys what I got in my Sephora haul!
